Dacorum Young Artists
This competition enables local schools to publicise the talents of their Year 4 & 5 pupils. Each school's entries will be recognised at the 2018 Exhibition which will take place on 12th May at Astley Cooper School, Hemel Hempstead
Youth Speaks is a competition organised and promoted by Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland. It is a four stage competition designed to support and encourage the development of effective communication skills.
Annual Fireworks Party
Rotary organises an annual firework party in aid of local charities at Berkhamsted
Cricket Club with a professional firework display, music, food and attractions for children of all ages.
Shoeboxes for Romania
Pupils of several Berkhamsted schools generously support Rotary's project each year to fill hundreds of shoe boxes with Christmas gifts for less fortunate children in Eastern Europe. These are transported to Romania and distributed by local Rotary Clubs
We organise a day out including lunch for senior citizens to a local attraction. recent visits have included the WWII Forties Experience at Bushey and a barge trip along the Grand Union Canal
Logandene Bus Run
Every month we take a group of residents from the Logandene Care Home in Hemel Hempstead out for a couple of hours minibus run around the beautiful Chilterns country side and where possible stop for a cup of tea!
Charity Golf Day
We organise an annual charity golf day in aid of Rennie Grove Hospice Care. It typically raises about £3000. The next event will be at Stocks Golf Club on June21 2019.
The Tournament provides an opportunity for students interested in Engineering and Science to use team-building skills to solve a design and technology task- as well as to practice oral, written and graphical communications skills.
Rotary's Young Chef Competition is the first stage of a national competition designed to support and encourage the development of cookery skills. Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Rotary clubs organise the Dacorum competition and the winners go forward to next stage at County level
Half Marathon and Fun Run
This annual event is promoted and organised by Berkhamsted Rotary who aim for a successful, safe and challenging Half-Marathon event together with an interesting 5 mile Fun Run. Over the years this Rotary event has raised more than £250,000 for various charities
Every year we organise a trip for a group of children with learning difficulties from Woodfield School in Leverstock Green on a Rotary day out at Whipsnade Zoo. They get to see the animals, ride on the train and have a wonderful picnic lunch.
Concert at the Castle
We organise open air concerts in the grounds of Berkhamsted Castle in aid of local charities. The professional opera company "Illyria" perform well
loved Gilbert & Sullivan operas and in 2018 the show will be "The Pirates of Penzance" on 18th August.
Rotary Civic Awards
Each spring, Berkhamsted Town Council and Berkhamsted Rotary present the annual Rotary Centenary Civic Awards to honour local citizens who make a significant contribution to the life of the Town.
Following the success of our 2016 young musicians concert which raised £5300 for Prostate Cancer Awareness, we'll be hosting a Musical Kaleidoscope on 22nd June 2018 featuring talented young musicians from across a wide range of musical styles/genres. All proceeds will go to local Rotary charities
We are preparing to tour the streets of Berkhamsted for Christmas 2018 and the Sleigh will first appear at the Festival of Light on 25th November
